Tommy Jackson
Hello, I am Pastor Tommy Jackson. My passion is to lead others in developing their gifts and talents. I enjoy being a pastor. I also enjoy serving as a Wedding Officiant for couples who do not have a pastor/minister.
History Born and raised in Victoria, Texas, Tommy Jackson gave his heart to Jeus at age twelve and first felt his calling into the ministry at age fourteen. He received his ministerial training at SAGU in Waxahachie, Texas, specializing in pastoral ministries. Tommy spent eleven years as a Youth Pastor, then went on to pastor an Assemblies of God church in the Dallas, Texas area – where he served as Senior Pastor for fourteen years. Under Tommy’s leadership, the church grew from twelve people to several hundred in attendance. The church built or remodeled five separate times to accommodate the rapid growth of the ministry. Under Tommy’s leadership, thirty-seven distinct ministries were started or enhanced during his tenure as senior pastor. Experience Tommy has served in several leadership capacities. He was president of the ministerial fellowship in his city, served on the North Texas Task Force on the Occult, was the Sectional Youth Leader for the Wichita Falls Section and served on the board of the Mike Hagen Strength Team Ministry. He was also recognized as a future leader within the Assemblies of God when he was asked to serve on the District Youth Cabinet and the Committee for Civic and Moral Awareness. In addition, he has served on the board of a multi-million dollar cabinet manufacturing company in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. Tommy has been a speaker at meetings, conventions, youth camps and church revival services both nationally and internationally. Perspective Having both a global and local perspective, Tommy has enjoyed traveling on behalf of the ministries in which he has been involved. He has traveled most of the United States speaking at churches on behalf of the International Missions Ministry – Book of Hope International (now ‘One Hope”), where he served as Church Partnership Representative. Tommy has also been privileged to participate in short-term missions trips in Honduras, Mexico, Haiti, Romania, Australia, New Zealand, and Vanuatu. Family Friends, family and activities are all a big part of Tommy’s life. He has been married to his high school sweetheart, Kim for 29 years now. Tommy and Kim have three children, Joshua 27, Lauren 23 (Mrs. Randy Cochran), and Parker, age 15. He enjoys family time, golfing, swimming, cooking out and long conversations with friends. Though he has been married for almost twenty-five years, he still continues to date his wife, and considers her to be the most important person to him (after Jesus). Tommy and Kim’s motto in life is “Love God, Love People.” They intend to spend the rest of their lives serving God by serving people. Their passion is to pastor this local body of believers (www.rfchurch.com), watching them become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ. Further, Tommy’s plans for the future include consulting with churches and ministries to increase their reach and Kingdom impact. He recently started a full-service consulting ministry to pursue this passion. You can read more about this here.
